Have you ever felt hopeless? Have you ever not known what way to turn?
If you’re human… you’ve experienced this at least once. I’d bet you’ve experienced this lots of times in your life. There is a hope… a joy… a way…
Jesus.
In this post, I will share the role of Bible time in my daily routine.
In case you missed it, though… you can still check out last week’s blog here.
Nothing settles a heart more than time with Jesus
I’ve had more heartache in my life than a little. I have experienced tragedy and loss… fear and failure. My dad died when I was a teen, and I spent those years wondering why God would ever do this to me. Why would He let this happen to me?
It’s ok to ask God questions. At that time, I didn’t go to church, I didn’t know who God was, I didn’t know the hope found in Jesus… I was lost.
God can change hearts. He draws people to Him. And that’s what happened. In my 30s, I found Jesus and began understanding what unconditional, unwavering love looks like.
At any moment, I can speak to God, my Father. I can ask for His peace. When I am feeling twisted or unsure, He comforts me. He guides me when I can’t find my footing.
I can lay my burdens at His feet
I use journaling as a part of my quiet time. I open it with my intention for the day and immediately jump into Bible time and prayer.
I spend time in His word; I seek Him and His wisdom.
I pour myself out. I lay every weight down. My burdens are not mine alone to bear.
The beautiful thing about this process is that He already knows… He has already seen where I am and what’s ahead of me.
I love journaling my prayer every morning because it makes the time more intentional. I can focus on the words leaving my pen and forming a love letter to Jesus.
Nothing I can say or do will make Jesus love me less. He knows me. He knows my heart. And I find such joy and comfort in that. Can you imagine that unconditional love?
Rejoice in the provisions
A lot of time in this life is spent with a wanting heart. Wanting this or that. The latest tech or a nicer car. We have all experienced want.
But our God provides EVERYTHING you need. He knows your needs. He makes a way when you feel like there is no way.

So, while some of my time is spent asking God for what I need, I also praise Him for the provisions He has put in my life.
You see this all through scripture. You hear how He provided for His children. So why wouldn’t He also provide for you?
Now, don’t get me wrong, there is a lot of faith and trust that doesn’t always feel easy. But I have seen God work in so many big ways.
Starting a relationship with Jesus can happen in the quiet few moments before you get out of bed in the morning. We have immediate access to our Father, who wants to hear from us.

I have shared briefly about why I have Bible time as a part of my daily routine, but if you are interested in how I do that and what it looks like, you can grab your own Morning Pages Journal here.
